Swimmin' fun!

Since Justin now has Saturdays off we figured we would be able to get out and do somethings. But instead we still found ourselves at home hangin out. And since we were just hangin out I asked him if he would clean out and fill up Ryken's little kiddie pool. So him being the great daddy and hubby he is did. So we headed outside in the backyard to spend some time in the pool. :) Well lets just say it was mostly just Ryken and Justin in the pool. I really wanted to go out and lay out and get a little sun. So just was the watchful eye on Ryken so I could do my own thing. So I layed out with a good book and the boys played in the water. :) Ryken had so much fun playing with daddy and I think it was a good thing for them to spend sometime together. Who am I kidding, I was just happy to get a few minutes to myself to read and relax. :) I am a little sad that I didn't get much sun well not enough to get any color. But I must say that I didn't get much reading done either. Cause I just loved getting to peek over my book and see how much fun my boys were having. And to hear Ryken laugh the way he does with Justin just brought a smile to my face. Some days I just can't get enough of my them. Ryken sure liked the pool alot more this time around. He crawled around in the water and even tried to climb up the little slide. Justin helped him up the slide and he got pulled back down and boy did he like it.

Here he is getting ready to "slide" down. His grin is kinda scary but still cute. :)And here he is after... clapping for himself since he made it down with a little help from daddy.

Also if you look closely you can see how much his diaper expanded in the water. Guess I should have used one of his little swimmers. :) Justin went to throw it away but he just tossed it aside till he had cleaned up the pool stuff. And when he tossed it it hit the rocks and pretty much expolded. OOPS! Next time I will try to remember to use the little swimmers. :) We had lots of fun and hopefully we will get out to our little pool a few more times since its so HOT outside.

Baker Family Reunion.

This past weekend we were able to get out of this horrible heat that has been in Phoenix the past month. We were having a Baker family reunion up in the White Mountains. It started on Friday but with Justin's schedule we weren't able to go up till Saturday morning when he got home. He just started his new schedule that week too so it worked out pretty good that he didn't even have to take anytime off for the trip up. And Ryken and I didn't have to go alone again. :) So once we FINALLY got on the road it was all going pretty good. But then of course Ryken didn't want to sleep even though he had no nap that morning. So he was a big fuss monkey pretty much the whole way up. And of course once we were past Payson I asked Justin if he remembered to get our air mattress. And guess what... he forgot it, well I will say we forgot it. So we decided we were going to go in to Showlow before we headed to Vernon. So after our un-planned trip to Showlow we finally made it to Vernon and to the campsite which was at a little place called Los Burros. (That seriously was like the longest trip to Vernon ever for me! I was so glad to get out of the car as was Ryken and I am sure Justin too. ) We had lots of fun while we were up there with my family. We had lots of fabulous food, wonderful cool weather but best of all was the great company of family. I am not much of a camper as you could probably tell since we had to have an air mattress in order to even camp. :) But the camping is always so much fun when you have family there to have fun with. We got to play some awesome games of Spades. And Justin and I are a great team and beat my parents quite a few times. :) But I think the best was just getting to see Ryken playing and having fun with his cousins.

And he did have lots of fun and I think being outside was the best for him. Since here at home we don't get out much since its so hot outside. Atleast he doesn't get to crawl around outside much like he did out there. And it just made me smile at him as he crawled around in the grass and the rocks exploring as much as he could.
So the days out camping were lots of fun. But we can't really say the same thing for the nights. Ryken is one of those people who loves to sleep in his bed and his bed only. Which I guess isn't a bad thing. But it is when it comes to us going anywhere over night. So we had troubles with getting him to sleep thru the night. Which meant that mom and dad didn't get much sleep either. The weather was nice but there was some sprinkles of rain here and there. And of course the day we are packing up to leave it starts to pour rain on us as we are packing up. So we made it out just in time. So we ended up making it thru Ryken's first camping trip all in one piece or should I say 3 pieces. :)
So we headed up there on Saturday and were able to come back on Tuesday afternoon. So we even got to go to spend a night in Woodruff with my parents. Which is always nice for us but of course probably the best for me. :) And I even got to meet up with my good friend Bri and her little guy Britt on Tuesday for lunch. And I am so mad that I didn't get a picture of Britt and Ryken together. :( So all in all we had a GREAT weekend. It was so nice to get out of the heat but now we are home and trying not to melt. :)

Memory Game...

Everyone needs to play...This is Fun!

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember--it can be funny, weird, awkward, random, etc.!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Fun 4th of July weekend

Ryken and I had such a fun weekend for the 4th of July. We were able to head up to Woodruff to get out of the hot, hot heat and stay with my parents for the weekend. And all of my brothers were there with their families too. Justin wasn't able to go because he was working so it was all fun except we missed having him there to celebrate with us. I was wondering why it was that we didn't go up last year for the celebration and then I remembered...Ryken was only a few weeks old last year so we just stayed at home. But this year I was excited for him to be able to see the fireworks and have some fun with his cousins, aunts and uncles and his grandparents. And see some fireworks. I was kinda worried about him with fireworks being so loud and all but there was nothing to even worry about. He LOVED seeing them and even hearing them. It didn't bother him one bit which makes me think maybe he is out growing the being scared of loud noises. :)

On Friday we were able to head in to Holbrook and watch the fireworks there. I had never seen the show there and I thought it was really good. And it made it even better that the weather there was so nice compaired to the weather here in Phoenix. Ryken just was drawn to watching all the pretty colors of the fireworks. He did keep going back and forth from me and my mom. I think he was trying to stay awake to watch all of them.

We all had a great time just watching the fireworks and joking around with eachother. And eventually Ryken just couldn't take all of the excitement and just had to pass out and finally fell asleep with Grandmas help...And he stayed asleep which surprised me since it was pretty loud. But what he did see he seemed to like.

On Saturday night we were able to head in to Heber and watch the awesome firework show they put on there. I have been to Heber a couple of times to see them and they really are the best ones that I have seen. We had some great seats thanks to my sister-in-law Lori's extended family. And it was just lots of fun to spend time with family and catch up before all the fireworks.

Here is a fun picture of my mom with some of her grandkids. I wish I could have gotten all of the ones that were there in the pic but they were off having fun with all the other kiddos there. The weather was even a little chilly that night so we got to put Ryken's sweatshirt to good use again. This night he wasn't able to stay awake for the show. If you look close you can see how red his eyes are. He was so darn sleepy. He slept thru the whole show. But I can say it was great!

Sunday we were just able to relax and hang out after church. Ryken got to spend some fun time with my parents and with his cousin Cordd that is 7 months older then him.

My dad took Ryken out on his 1st 3-wheeler ride. And needless to say he cried at the end. I am not really sure if it was because he wanted off or didn't want off. Either way I think my dad enjoyed taking him on the ride. :)He got to hang out with some of the greatest grandparents ever... HIS! He loves them so much and it makes me so happy that he has gotten closer to them in the past few months. He loved crawling around all over the trampoline. And tried to follow Cordd around as he ran around the trampoline. He also liked to just get bounced around when he was sitting in the middle. It was great to see him have so much fun. I can say that I did wish he could walk so that he could maybe have even more fun with Cordd.

After all the fun we had up there with my parents my mom and dad even invited Ryken and I to come up and stay with them for a few more days. But Justin said he would miss us too much to leave already since we just got back on Monday. So we passed on their offer but will more then likely take them up on it later this summer. :)

Thanks mom and dad for always showing us a great time at your place!

Oh silly Ryken...

I seriously can't get enough of Ryken's cute little face the past few days. He has his moments where he just smiles and smiles and that is what happened the other morning when Justin got home. I decided to make us some smoothies for breakfast. And whenever that happens Ryken seems to always end up in Justin's lap begging for Justin to share some of his smoothie with him. And of course who could resist this little man... This is him after a few "sips" of the smoothie. He had a white pj top on so I made sure we got that off before he started. But Ryken really could not get enough. Everytime Justin would go to take a drink of it Ryken would just start fussing for more.
And again here he is with it all over his face and under his double chin. He loved every bit of what made it in his mouth. After this I got him in the bath and believe me there were a few berry seeds floating around in the bath water after his face got washed off. :)

Then today we were going to try to get Ryken's pictures taken since he is now offically 1. He wasn't feeling so well this morning so we were trying to test it out and see if we could get some smiles from him. And these are the silly faces we got when we told him to smile!

Mr. Cheeseball for sure! But we couldn't help but laugh after each one. It cracks me up how his mouth is turned to a different side each time. And needless to say once we got to the studio to take his pictures, he barley even smiled! Of course now that I really wanted him to get some cute pics he failed pretty bad. We got some okay ones but really not what we were hoping for. Maybe we can talk daddy in to taking us back and trying again. :) we shall see....
