Ryken is 1/2 year old!

I wasn't good about posting a new blog about Ryken turning 6 months old but I have good reason. The actual day was on Christmas Eve so I was pretty busy. And have been the past few days. We had a great Christmas and hope you all did too. It was great getting to spend lots of time with family. We were able to see both of our families this year for Christmas. And it worked out great. And was even better since it was Ryken's first Christmas too. It made it that much more special. We haven't gotten to go to the doctor for Ryken's 6 month check up so we don't know yet how much he weighs or how tall he is but I can say that he is a big boy! He is such a good baby too. I couldn't have asked for a better baby. He has grown up so much and I never thought that the time would go by so fast. And that we would already be to this point. Whenever people would tell me that they grow up so fast I wasn't so sure about it. But now I can for sure agree with them. It is hard to think that 6 months have gone by and in another 6 he is going to be a year old. He hasn't gotten any teeth yet but I think it could be any day now. He always has ALL of his fingers in his mouth now days. And is such a slobber monkey. He is also such a happy baby. He smiles all the time and of course makes us smile too. We are so grateful for the blessing that he is to us. Like I said we could have asked for a better baby. :)

He was such a good boy when he got to see Santa Claus. All smiles !

He has learned how to sit up really good these past few weeks. And I am so happy! Now I can take him to get his picture taken and not have to worry about him just laying on his back or belly. Oh and for the fact that he is getting to be such a big boy. :)

Its the most wonderful time of the year!

Well as you all know its the most wonderful time of the year! Yep Christmas. I don't know anyone that doesn't love this time of year. Well maybe my dad when it comes to somethings. But thats okay we still love him. But any who. We put up our Christmas tree a couple of weeks ago but I left our camera in Woodruff at my parents house and didn't get it back for a week. But we actually went out and bought a new camera anyways. We really wanted to get a new one for Christmas so I guess we just got an early gift. :) So I got a pic of the tree. And Justin was a great hubby and hung up some lights outside on our house too. Now I just need to get started on our baking for all of friends and family. Thats always fun too but we will see how it goes this year with our little guy being here now. Well I was kinda bored the other day and wanted to take some cute pics of Ryken in a litte Christmas onesie and I got a few but not as good as I was hoping for. So I hope everyone is all ready for Christmas and has their shopping done. I know I don't. :) OH and we went to the mall and got Ryken's pic taken with Santa. I just wish we had a scanner to scan the pic onto the computer so I could post it. But he just smiled so big when he was on his lap. Such a great pic for the first time. I wonder how he will be next year.....

Here is our tree. We even have presents under it already. I know that next year the tree will look so different since by then Ryken will be all over the place and probably all over the tree.

Here is our little cheeseball! I tried to get a little smile out of him but this is all the good I could get. Oh well he is still cute!

5 months old!

Today my little cheeseball Ryken is 5 months old. I still can't believe how much time flys sometimes. He is just getting cuter and funner everyday. Well except for the fact that I think he is teething and that is NO fun at all. But I guess its what we have to do right? I just wish Justin was around more in the evenings to help. But that's a whole different story. :) Got to love being married to a Police Officer. Any who! Funny thing is that today Ryken actually rolled over from his back to his belly for the first time. Last month he rolled from his belly to his back a few times when doing tummy time. But today I was wrapping Christmas presents and turned around and there he was on his tummy. It sure was a surprise to me. I couldn't believe it. And of course I had to take a few pics of him today also since it is his little monthly birthday. I always look forward to the 24th of every month just to know that he is that much older. :) And of course I just LOVE being his mom.

Our CUTE little man.

My sister-in-law (Justin's Sister) was in town from Cali with her little guy. So we decided to go to the Chandler Mall on Monday while she was still here. And since Justin was working some overtime from 6 in the morning till 6 at night I figured it would be nice to get out of the house and hang out with her and Tristan and Ryken. Thats whatwe did. We had a pretty good time. We checked out a few stores for ourselves and also of course a few for the our little guys. We found some pretty good stuff for the boys. We went to The Children's Place and I found these adorable hats for Ryken. We needed to find a beenie type one that covered his ears for when it gets colder and for when we go to visit my parents. So I got him one and I couldn't help myself and got him another cute hat that was just adorable on him. And Jessica had bought 2 pair of sunglasses for Tristan the day before and she had both of them so we HAD to take a picture of them wearing the shades. We laughed so hard at them. And of course they had no idea why we were laughing so hard. I wish that I was able to find a few more things for Christmas too since that is right around the corner but of course I didn't. Oh but Jessica and I both got this really cute bag that we were both going to use as a diaper bag. Well I told her that I didn't think Justin would go for it since it really wasn't ment to be a diaper bag. I got it anyways. And sure enough when he saw it thats exactly what he said. He is such an organizer that he doesn't think that the bag will work cause there are not enough places to put everything. Don't get me wrong I love him but sometimes he can be a pain in the neck! I mean he doesn't really carry the bag much anyways so what does he care. Plus we needed a bigger one because now that we have a few toys for Ryken to take there isn't room in the bag we have now. Needless to say I may be taking it back. :( We will see. Any who I just had to post the pics of my adorable little boy, ( and one of his cute cousin too). Enjoy!

Do you think he likes it? I'm not to sure. :)

One COOL baby!

Two of the cutest boys I know.

Rice Cereal.

We got the okay from Ryken's doctor to give him rice cereal now. But we had been putting it off. We had given it to him in his bottle but we decided to give it to him in a spoon on Monday. Needless to say it was quite the show. Justin and I could not help but laugh at him. Ryken did not want anything to do with it. He did not like the taste at all. All I could say is that it sure didn't smell that good either. But daddy decided to taste it himself. He said it wasn't good either. We tried to give him just a few more bites to see if any would actually stay in his mouth. He would open his mouth so I could feed it to him but once it was in his mouth, he just kept it open and made funny faces and then would let it fall out of his mouth. :) We were having such a fun time with it. But the mess afterwards was not much fun. So we are going to maybe try again in a week or so and see how that goes. But of course we couldn't feed it to him for the first time and not have pictures to show. So here are a few. :)

First bite is not so swell.

Big bite for Mama.

Okay ma, I think I'm done.

Halloween

Well it has come and gone! Ryken's 1st halloween. I know I know. He is to little to go trick or treating. Which is why we didn't take him. :) But today mommy is wishing that we would have to satisfy her sweet tooth. :) We took Ryken out to our friends Gina and Kamerons Trunk or Treat that their ward was having. It was lots of fun to get to see them and also to see all the cute kids in the costumes. But especially our Chunky Monkey and their Little Bumble Bee. Such cute kids we have. We also were invited to a Halloween party that was being hosted by Justin's Sarg from work. So a couple days before the actually Halloween we all dressed up for the party. If you can't tell I am Dr. Buchberger and Justin is Steve Irwin. (Crocodile Hunter) and our little guy was a cute little monkey. Don't laugh to hard at the wig. :) I am already looking forward to next year when maybe we can actually score some candy for our house. Even though he may not eat all of it. Hey like I said mama has a sweet tooth. Well any who. enjoy the pics.

So I decided to the look alike meter and see who Ryken looks like. And I just had to laugh when I got the results. Oh and by the way I am so bored if you couldn't tell. Justin is sleeping and so is Ryken. I should probably do something around the house but guess what I am lazy too. :) ENJOY!

4 months old!

Well Ryken is now 4 months old. It seems like yesterday that I was in the hospital having him. But I have enjoyed all 4 months so far and look forward to many more months with him. And especially getting to see him grow up and learn all kinds of fun new stuff. We took him to the doctor for his 4 month checkup on Monday. He did really good for the most part. He had to get 4 shots and he didn't like that to much. He screamed when he was getting poked but as soon as it was over and I picked him up he just fussed a little. He also got weighed. He now is a whopping 16 pounds 4 ounces. And his length now is 25 inches. So needless to say he is a big boy! But that is okay with us just as long as he is a healthy one. I am so happy being a mother. It is what I have dreamed of since I was little. And to have such a happy baby is wonderful. He loves to smile and is now starting to giggle a bit too. Makes me smile. I just LOVE being his mommy.

Family trip to California

So at the beginning of this week we took a quick trip to Cali with some of my family. It included 3 of my brothers and their families as well as my mom and dad and an aunt. We had lots of fun! We got to visit Disneyland and California Adventure. As well as Knottsberry Farm. The weather was nice but still kinda hot. But it was just nice to get away for a few days. We know Ryken won't be able to remember any of it but thinking back I think that the trip was really more for me. I LOVE Disneyland and so we just had to go. :)
