Christmas has come and gone...

It is always sad when the Christmas season is over. Because thru it all we usually get to spend lots of time with family. And so its no fun when its all over. But we had a great Christmas this year. As you can tell from the previous posts we had several family Christmas parties and had lots of fun at all of them. This year Justin was suppose to work on Christmas day. I asked him if he could try and get it off so that we could have a fun relaxing day instead of it being rushed. And he was able to get it off. So we were happy about that. Ryken had lots of fun this Christmas. Last year he didn't really know what to do with everything. But this year was a little better. He tore into most of his presents with a little bit of help. And of course once the gift was open he wanted to just play with it and didn't want to open another one. So it did take us a little longer then we expected to get all of his gifts opened. And after each toy he was pretty excited it was the clothes and shoes that seemed to bum him out. He didn't enjoy them. But needless to say they were probably more for me then him anyways. : ) We also had to help him out with his stocking he wasn't really sure what to do when it came to getting the stuff out of it.

But once he started he was happy to see what was inside. He likes Elmo and so Santa thought he would like this little see and say. : )

A few more of the gifts that he liked were...

This fancy magnadoodle thing. He loves magnets right now so this is so fun for him to get the animal shapes to show up on the screen.

He also really likes Mickey Mouse so he was SO happy with this fun Mickey book as well as his very own Singing Mickey!

Mommy and Daddy may be regretting that gift in the next few months, maybe even weeks. : )

Once we had opened all of our gifts from Santa and from each other Ryken still wanted to find more but wasn't able to so he decided to use a bag that had nothing in it for his very own hat...

Such a goofy, funny kiddo that's for sure. Once Ryken was down for his nap and got a little more sleep in Justin's parents came over. So we all had a late lunch together and enjoyed some down time and then it was back to opening some more presents.

Ryken got this Elmo Driver from Justin's parents. He is still a little scared by it. But I am sure it will get broken in one of these days. : )

This is his new little teddy bear so he had to show it some love. But then again I just think its a cute picture of him and his little grin. (oh and yes my son did stay in his pj's all day long.)

Just another funny/cute picture of Ryken. He usually doesn't like hats like this or any hat on his head but for some reason he will leave this beanie on for awhile. We just were getting a kick out of him and his silly little self. I think he enjoyed the attention. So we had a great Christmas this year and were spoiled beyond anything. We all got the things that we wanted and even a little more. But again I think the best part of this holiday is all the time we get to spend with the ones we love!

PS- It is not a good time to be pregnant with all the goodies around the house. I think I may have gained a few extra pounds that I didn't want to gain for awhile longer. But maybe I will just blame my chubby belly on the fact that its my second baby. : ) I can do that right? We hope that everyone had a great and safe Christmas and have a safe and fun New Year's too!

Our little Surprise!

The past month or so I have not been feeling like myself. I have been extremely tired. Very nauseous, and even pretty sick. I thought I had the flu. I guess I was wrong...

Because guess what? We found out that we are expecting a new little Buchberger! Yep you are hearing me right. We are pregnant!! It was a little bit of a surprise to us but we are so excited. And are really looking forward to the next 6 months and then some. : ) So we are now about 3 months in and I have started to feel a little better. Still tired but not as sick. Which makes me so HAPPY!

So here is the first somewhat good picture of our new one...

I waited awhile to really post anything cause I wanted to make sure everything was going well with me and the baby. So it seems to be going pretty good for both of us so far. : )

Filling in...

I guess its time to fill in the gap of my blog. I haven't been up to blogging much lately. Not sure if its just cause nothing that exciting has happened or if its just me. Oh wait I do know. It just me! I can't get enough time to even do it without Ryken bugging me with something. Oh the joys of having an almost 18 month old. : ) The only reason I can do it now is cause Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is on and its Saturday so that means there are 2 on today! YAY! Okay I know I am a bad mom to let him sit and watch TV. But it gives me a few mins without him at my feet or trying to sit on me or something. My mom said its cause he loves me, but come on now does he love me that much that he doesn't want to be left alone?

Anywho, this past weekend we were able to make a short trip up to Woodruff to visit my family again. And this time I mean all of us. JUSTIN GOT TO GO WITH US!!! It was great having another adult with me on the trip up. It means that I got to stop and go to the bathroom without having to worry about what I was going to do with Ryken. Which was awesome believe me! : ) And it meant that I had another person to talk to that really could have a conversation with me instead of just a bunch of jabbering. But best of all it meant that we got our daddy and our hubby with us for the weekend. : ) We were going to leave on Friday when Justin got done doing some stuff for work. But he ended up getting home later than we thought so we just decided to leave on Saturday morning. So we spent a little time just relaxing that night. I had to take a picture of him in his new Christmas pj's that his grandma Buchberger got for him.

Then on Saturday we got on the road of course later then we wanted to like always. But we were able to make it up there in time for the Hatch family Christmas party that we were going up for. And we even got to stop in Snowflake to pick up some Bits pizza that I love so much! That night was also the Light Parade in Holbrook so we always go to that before the party. It was nice this year cause there wasn't any snow like the past 2 years. But it was still pretty cold. Ryken seemed to enjoy it for the most part he sat and watched all the floats and ate a sucker that he got there too.

After the parade we all headed over to the party. We always have a good time with my mom's side of the family. So nothing was different this year. Except for the fact that Ryken was so tired and grumpy. But that came and went thru the night. So we got to open another early Christmas gift and Ryken enjoyed his gift at this party too.

His face doesn't really show it but he does like it. : ) Like I said he was tired. We also got to enjoy some more family time and some Hot coco and donuts like every year. And also like every year we had a great time!

On Sunday we had a pretty relaxing day. We went to Church with my parents and afterwards went back to there house to enjoy more down time with family. Ryken enjoyed playing outside with daddy and grandpa and a few of his cousins, while mommy just relaxed inside where it was warm. : ) But he also had a little fun inside. Playing with grandma and grandpa's phone...

He is so funny with the phone. He tries to say "hello" but it comes out more like "yo". And while we were there of course Ryken didn't sleep that well like he always does when we go other places. So that meant that mommy didn't get much sleep either. So we got a chance that day to take a little nap together. And Justin of course had to snap a picture of it.

So like always we had a great weekend with my parents and this weekend we even got to spend more time with the extended family too. Including a few of my brothers and their families. Oh and before we left we had to get one more silly picture of Ryken. Someone found these safety/sport type glasses while we were there. So we put them on Ryken and got this picture...

Oh this kid is to much sometimes! But we love him so darn much!

Early Christmas party...

Thanksgiving has now past and we had a good one. It seemed like it all went by to fast. My brother Mickey and his family came in from Las Vegas and stayed with us on Wednesday night. And that was fun to get to play some games with my nieces that night and stay up a little and watch a Christmas movie with them since I don't get to see them very often. The next day being Thanksgiving we were all able to meet up at my grandparents house in Mesa and do lunch there. So myself and Justin and Ryken were there along with all 4 of my brothers and their families and my parents and grandparents and a few others too. : ) It was great for us all to be there and enjoy some time together as a family. Justin had to work that night so he had to leave early to get some more sleep and go to work. So Ryken and I hung out with everyone else that night at Deak's place. Of course I guess there was to much going on or maybe I was just to lazy to break out the camera but I didn't get any pictures that day. : (

The next day was just a little more relaxed for me. I didn't need to go out and do any Black Friday shopping like my mom and sister-in-law. So later I just met up at my Grandparents and hung out with my parents. Till later that night when myself and my 3 sister-in-laws decided to go and catch a late showing of Twilight! I was pretty excited that I had someone to go see it with since it seemed like everyone else I knew had already seen it. We had a fun time even if some of us didn't like the movie as much as others. :) I was in need of a little girl time so thanks for the fun few hours girls.

And finally on Saturday we were planning on having a little early Christmas party as a family since we were all in Arizona. We met up at Jared and Lori's and there had our 2nd annul Baker Family Christmas Brunch. It was lots of fun to just relax with everyone and enjoy all the company. Ryken had lots of fun once he stopped being a stinker and played with some of his cousins.

Every year we each draw names for who to buy gifts for. And we usually all try to go in with us kids and get my parents something that they want. This year we decided to get my mom a new camera since hers was broken and she wanted one with bigger screen. And this was her reaction when she got it...

Priceless right. I guess she really liked it. And so did I. Lori did good on picking out a cute one just for mom. And apparently my mom told Lori that my dad had been wanting an Ipod. So that is what he got...

Hopefully he liked his gift as much as mom did. : ) Another person that loved the gift that they got was Ryken. He is the biggest fan of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and loves to watch it on TV every day. So of course he would love his gift...

Here he is trying to get to the gift inside...

Yay! Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on DVD! He had the biggest smile on his face when he saw this. I of course didn't capture it on film but you had to be there to see the excitement. And later everyone was nice enough to let him watch a few episodes on the DVD. Thanks Jared for giving up the TV for a little while. : ) Justin and I loved our gifts too. Even though I have yet to see mine, but I know I will love it when I do get it. : ) While we were out there that night and once Justin got to join us out there since he worked that morning, we ended up watching a few Christmas movies and just getting into the holiday spirit. Thanks for the great time and for having it out at your place Jared and Lori!

Since we were in the holiday spirit we decided to put up our Christmas decorations on Monday. Justin was great and went out Monday afternoon and hung up the lights outside. And later that night we put up the tree. Once Ryken was asleep of course since we didn't want it to be a major disaster. I was a little worried of how Ryken was going to be with the tree this year but I am happy to say that he is great with it! He hasn't really tried to take off the ornaments or pull at anything yet. But I guess we still have a few more weeks. : )

If you look close you can see him at the bottom checking it all out. Now if we can just keep him from opening the presents once they are wrapped we may have a happy holiday at our house this year. : )

Thankful...

I have alot to be thankful for. But over the past few days I have just been thinking how thankful I am for the people I have in my life. Especially these two...

My husband and son are 2 of the best things that have happened to me thus far. I don't know what I would do with out my hubby and ALL the love he shows me. And how he takes care of me in so many ways. Thanks Justin for being you and loving me. I am also so thankful for this smile...

Because lets face it it brings a smile to my face and maybe yours too. : ) And over the past few weeks lets just say I have not been myself. : ) And he is always the one to bring a smile to my face. And always the one that has a kiss to share with me. Thanks Ryken for being my little man and making me the happiest mommy! I am also thankful for my family and extended family. I have so many people to love and I love that. So I hope at this time you all have lots to be thankful for too. And have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Weekend away from home...

Now that Justin is back to his regular work schedule and has had some chance for some Overtime, Ryken and I decided to make a trip up to visit my parents in Woodruff. Plus my good friend was getting married so I wanted to go up for her reception. It was just a bonus that we got to spend time with my parents too. : ) We started our trip a little later than I wanted on Friday. And I was hoping that Ryken was going to be at least somewhat good on the way up but I guess I expected to much of him. He fussed and wined most of the way up. So once we got to Payson I decided I would get him and myself an ice cream cone. I figured it would keep him some what quiet for a little bit. Well it did keep him occupied and quiet but also made a bit of a mess of him. : )

I have given him my ice cream cones once I have eaten most of it, leaving him like a little more than half the cone but never his own ice cream cone. And I guess you can tell. He did pretty good at first but then I looked back and he had taken a bite out of the bottom of the cone. And the ice cream of course got all over him. : ) But he enjoyed every last bite of that ice cream.

Then Saturday afternoon I got to meet up with one of my best friends Brianna Brimhall and have lunch with her and our little guys. Then afterwards we went and meet up with another best friend Kiri Woodside to see her new little guy.

We had lots of fun catching up like always. And it was of course lots of fun to talk about all of our mommy stuff and just being with our adorable little guys! I love these girls and wish I lived alot closer so we could have more fun times together. Later that night I got to go to another friends wedding reception. And it was great to see her and see how beautiful she was in her wedding dress and so happy with her husband. And of course I forgot to take pictures! : (

While we were there so was my brother Bo and his family. So we got to spend time with them too. And Ryken and his cousin Cordd got to play together and seemed to have a good time. Cordd is so nice to Ryken and loves to share his stuff.

Here he is sharing his sucker with Ryken. And as you can tell Grandma was so proud of him for being such a nice cousin. I am sure these two will get in to lots of trouble as they grow up. But hopefully will be the best of cousins too. The weather up there was kinda chilly at night but it was nice and cool during the day. Ryken loved getting to go outside and play with all the cousins that were there. Here he is just running around all happy at Grandma and Grandpa Baker's house. We had lots of fun like always. And once I got home I told myself man I should have stayed an extra day. : ) So thanks as always Mom and Dad for a great weekend. And don't worry Justin said we can still come visit even after all of Ryken's mishaps while we were there. : )

Late Halloween Post...

Well I have been MIA this past week cause we had some computer problems. We had to get a new computer this week because of it. Which was not what we were planning for but oh well stuff like that happens sometimes right? Plus I was having Blogging with drawls so Justin was nice enough to let us get a new one sooner than later. : ) But before our computer died on us we had a great Halloween night with our great friends the Lee's. We decided to make the trip out to Maricopa to go to their ward Trunk or Treat. And we had a great time with them. Our little guys seemed to have a good time too. And they were so darn cute in their little costumes. : )
Ryken was Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh. And Porter was Batman. I loved Ryken's costume and am so glad that my wonderful sister-in-law Lori let me borrow it from her. I thought he was the cutest little Eeyore Donkey I have ever seen. : ) Here he is showing us his cute little face. : ) I was so surprised that he kept the head on the whole night. I really didn't think that would happen but am sure glad he did. Cause it made the costume for sure. : )As did the cute little pinned on donkey tail. Just like the real Eeyore's. So cute we had to get a picture of it too. : ) Oh and Gina decided the night before that she wanted us to dress up. So she had the bright idea for us to be 80's workout girls. I have to say it was fun dressing up but she looked way better than me. Like always. : ) We had almost as much fun as the boys. Even though our husbands didn't really want to claim us with our bright pink lipstick. : )
By the end of the night Ryken was pretty sure he didn't want to go around and get any more candy. I gave up on him before we even made our way around the parking lot. I had to carry the darn donkey cause he wouldn't hold my hand once he was on the ground walking. So I gave up too. But he did make out with some good candy.

Had to get a picture of mommy and son dressed up in their Halloween best. : ) You love the blue eyeshadow and pink lipstick don't you? :) Once the party was over we headed back to the Lee's to hangout. And our poor boys didn't get to sleep till like 10 that night. But I think Porter could have stayed up all night. That boy was bouncing off the walls after all his candy and cotton candy. : ) But they seemed to have some fun together. As did we with the other grown ups.
The next night we had gotten invited to a Halloween party that was being thrown by some of Justin's co-workers. We had fun there too. They said costumes were a must so we were able to borrow some of my brother Bo's baseball get-ups and became...
our own little baseball duo with our little mascot donkey Eeyore. :) So all in all we had a great Halloween. And hope everyone else did too.

Friends over to play...

Today Ryken got to have a friend over to play for a few hours. Our friends Gina and Kameron asked us if we could watch their little guy Porter for awhile while they got some things done that would be easier done with out a little one there with them. So we were up for the challenge. : ) But it wasn't a challenge at all. Only our kid like always. : ) Ryken and Porter ended up playing pretty good together. There was a few times that they didn't want to share the toys and they both decided they would rather drink the others sippy cup instead of their own. But nothing to major. We decided to get out of the house for a little while and go play in the backyard since it was nice out. The boys seemed to have a good time playing with the basketball and football. Well Ryken decided to go and stand by one of the trees and watch Porter and Justin play around with the football. Well after awhile he started fussing. At first I thought he was just being a stink pot cause he didn't want to walk in the rocks. But I was looking a little closer and saw something on his leg. So I ran over to him and there was like 50 little ants crawling all over his legs and shoes. They were biting him! I grabbed him and had to hit all the ants off of him and take his shoes off. And this is was the result on one of his legs... (the bites are kinda hard to see but they are there.)

Both of his legs got bitten and I was a bit surprised that he didn't cry about it more. But he actually was ready to go back and play some more. (Oh and I went and got some ant killer and sprayed the crap out of those stupid things. : ) ) Ryken and Porter had a little fun running after the balls and just being outside.

I guess here Ryken was trying to get away from Porter before he got the ball. : )Porter looks like a little football player here. Running with the ball to make a touchdown. : )I guess Ryken got tired of playing ball so he decided to use it as a little seat to rest on. : )

After we were outside for awhile we went in for a little snack. And after that I was trying to find something to keep them entertained for a little longer. So we found Ryken's ball popper machine.

And lets just say they sure liked it. It was one thing that they could both play together. And not get to upset with each other. And they thought it was fun that they could chase the balls that popped out of it. : ) Oh to be a little kid again and be so entertained by the littlest things.

Its been 4 years!

Today it has been 4 years since Justin and I got married. I can still remember us coming out of the Snowflake Temple to see our family and friends waiting for us. And I can still remember how happy I was that day to finally have him for my husband, and how happy I am still to have him as my hubby. It is so crazy how the time has gone by that fast. These past 4 years have sure had there ups and downs. But we have made it thru all of it. And sometimes it still surprises me that he has stuck it out with me this long. :) And he has eternity to go. :) I truly have been blessed so much to have a husband like Justin. That is so kind and understanding and is willing to do almost anything to make me happy and us happy as well.
So thanks Justin for the past 4 years and all love that you have given me! I truly can't wait to spend Eternity with you!
LOVE YOU BUNCHES!!
(Sorry bout the fuzzy picture, had to take a picture of a picture. : ) ghetto I know.)

Digging for gold... : )

Ryken has started doing something that I really wish he wouldn't do. And he seems to be getting in the habit of doing it even when I tell him NO. But then again he still does anything that I tell him No. That's just kids right or is it just mine?
Anyways.
The thing that I always finding him doing is PICKING HIS NOSE! I hate it! I don't want my kid to be the little kid that picks his nose and eats whatever he gets out. It hasn't gotten to that point yet. But I don't want it to get there. How can I get him to stop? We were with my family the other day and I wanted to get a picture of Ryken with my brother Deak. This is what I got cause he wouldn't take his finger out of his nose!

So Deak thinking it was funny decided he wanted me to take this picture...Ryken isn't really picking his nose in it but his hand is still up to his nose like it seems to be always. Someone HELP! What is a mom to do? :)

Nice Jugs...

Ryken is currently obsessed with taking out every bottle, cup or box out of the recycle and walking around with them thru the house. Last night it was pretty funny though. Cause he decided to get out two of the biggest things in there. Which was 2 milk jugs. He proceeded to carry them around for awhile and we were cracking up watching him with the jugs in his little hands. And he thought it was just fun to carry them around. Well whatever will make him happy for a little bit of time is fine with me since it wasn't hurting anyone. Just probably bugging daddy a little bit. : )

I told him to drink the milk and this is what he did...

It was so darn funny and cute! I love when he is his happy little self. Sure brings smiles to mommy and daddy's faces. : )

Shoes...

If you have read any of my previous posts you will know that my son does not like to ware shoes. And now that he is walking we figure he should learn how to get use to shoes anyways. It has been a struggle. I never really worried or cared about it before because he couldn't walk so no real need for shoes, it was HOT outside and so it was okay that he didn't ware shoes cause again he couldn't walk so he wouldn't need shoes for the hot ground or cement. Oh and we let him walk around in Disneyland and Knottsberry Farm without shoes.

Does that make us bad parents? We would occasionally put some little flip flops on him just cause they were cute. But he HATED them too. Another problem with it is his feet are kinda chubby. And he is a stinker and always curls up his toes when I try to put his shoes on. Well we got a pair of shoes for him that we have been trying to be better about putting on him when we go out and sometimes when we are at home. Well he HATES them just like any other shoes. But once he figures out that they are staying on he will just start walking around in them. ( He is still a little wobbly with the shoes on and walking) But yesterday I found him sitting on the floor trying to get them off.

They are the velcro type ones so if he figures it all out then he may learn how to take them off. But he has yet to figure it out.Now he saw that I see he is trying to get them off. I told him no and to leave them alone and I got this...He wasn't to happy with me that I wouldn't help him take them off. But he got over it and was his happy little self again...I am really hoping that as time goes by he will learn to like the shoes. Cause really I don't want him to just ware socks all the time to walk around in especially since it is finally getting cooler. Because really what kind of parent would I be then? : )

California Trip...

WARNING! LONG POST AHEAD AND LOTS OF PICTURES...

We are back from another trip to California. And we had another fun and enjoyable time with family. I guess that's the way to go on vacation trips now. :) This time around we went with some of my family. And I really wish that all of my brothers could have been there for the trip too. But we missed Mickey and Kelly and their girls and Deak too.
We finally left on Saturday around 3. And arrived in Cali at our hotel a little after 9. We of course had to stop a few times for the little ones, and to stuff our faces with some dinner. And it was a pretty good trip until like about an hour and a half from our hotel. That is when Ryken decided he couldn't make up his mind up. He was so tired but was fighting sleep so instead he just screamed and cried for about an hour. (Sorry Dad) But he did sleep good that night which was great for us.

On Sunday we were just going to have a relaxing day at the beach. We had lots of fun even though it was kinda chilly that day. Some of the guys were brave enough to get in the cold water. I decided to try and get Ryken in the water. And we had a little fun but weren't crazy enough to get in the water all the way.

Ryken and I just played a little in the waves that came up on shore. I didn't think that he would really like the water that much but he LOVED it.

And he kept making his way back to the water. He also just enjoyed being outside and taking little walks with Justin on the beach...

My dad had lots of fun playing in the water with the older boys and also with the younger boys.

We also had to take a little stroll as a family. We had a good time at the beach and then we all went to eat afterwards. But Ryken couldn't make it to the restaurant.

All the fun at the beach wore him out and he took a little nap on the way to lunch.

On Monday we spent the day in California Adventure. That place is pretty fun and there are some fun rides there. We were all able to finally talk my parents in to going on Hollywood Tower of Terror. And they both liked it just like all the rest of us. I decided to forgo the Rapids ride this year and I am glad I did. Everyone got soaked on the ride. Just like I did last year. One of the first things we did that day at the park was go and watch the Playhouse Disney show. Ryken loves to watch Playhouse Disney and so do his cousins. So I was looking forward to seeing this with him. And he was so good thru the whole thing. He just kept watching all the characters and dancing every time the theme songs for the shows would play.

His favorite is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. And they also had Handy Manny as well as, My Friends Tigger and Pooh.

After the show we made our way out to the park. Ryken was able to ride a few rides there and we had a little fun with him on some of the "kiddie" rides.

Grandma got to take him on his first official carousel ride. And she said he wasn't to sure about the ride. But at least he wasn't crying so I think it was okay. :)

On Tuesday we made our way to "The Happiest Place On Earth" Disneyland! We of course had a fun time there too. While we were at the parks it was record breaking heat in that part of California. So we didn't get much of a break from the hot weather. But it did make it better that we were able to go on The Pirates Of The Carribean ride a few times to cool off. We also ran into a few characters while we were there. And a most of them were dressed up since its "Halloween Time" there.

Ryken was pretty much in awe of the characters. He would just stare at all of them for the most part. But didn't scream which I was afraid he might do. He even gave Mickey Mouse a kiss on the nose. :)

Grandma and Grandpa got in on the fun with the Tigger and Pooh while Justin and I were riding Splash Mountain. One of mine and my moms favorite rides at Disneyland is the Tea Cups and Ryken got to join in on the fun this year with a tea cup ride with Justin, my mom and me.He was trying to turn the wheel before the ride started. And once the ride started he couldn't really hold on. But he did have a fun ride. Here is a little video I took of us while we were on the Tea Cups.

Don't you think he was having a good time?

We had a little fun in ToonTown too. Maybe we had a little to much fun because guess what?...

Justin and Ryken got thrown in the ToonTown Jail. :) Don't worry I bailed them out.

Wednesday we made our way to one of all of our favorites Knottsberry Farm. It is alot of fun for the adults because we all love the roller coasters. I love that both of my parents still love to ride them too. And it was fun for the little ones too cause of the oh so great "Camp Snoopy" with all the "kiddie" rides. And again Justin and I got to join Ryken on some of those rides.

He liked this ride. Every time the car would go around the corners he would just laugh. :)If you look close you can see my big head way up in the air on the camp bus with Ryken. This ride was not his favorite. He kept his eyes closed for all the crazy spinning it did.He liked this ride too. He was just a little disappointed that he couldn't reach the horn to honk. We are so glad that we made this trip with some of my family this year. And it was a much needed vacation for myself. Since like I said before this trip was probably more for me than Justin or Ryken. :) Thanks again mom and dad for letting us drive there with you! And thanks for the fun times brothers and sister in laws of mine. Next time I hope the whole family can be there.
